Colonsay Gin

Colonsay Gin

Isle Of Colonsay, Argyll

In August 2016, Finlay and Eileen Geekie, packed up all their worldly possessions, left Oxfordshire, where they’d lived for over 30 years, and moved to their newly completed, self-build house on the remote Hebridean island of Colonsay.

Their new business provides them with the opportunity to combine their love of all things gin with their desire to create a viable future, living and working on the island, and, at the same time, make a significant contribution to the future sustainability and ongoing development of the local island economy and community as a whole.

Their spirits take inspiration from a mixture of Celtic folklore and the natural Hebridean beauty of the island and are hand-made in small batches of 160 bottles to recipes that are closely guarded by their special helper, ALVA, a delightful, red-haired maiden, who's image adorns the bottles, and who lives at the home of Wild Thyme Spirits – Tigh na Uruisg – which means Home of the Spirit.
