After meeting at University in 1993 Paula & Jon formed an incredible relationship both personally and in business. They dreamed of opening their own business in the food and drink sector. By 2005 they had opened three pub restaurants including The Jolly Farmers, an award-winning pub, eatery & Farm shop in Surrey.
In 2006 they launched a “cash-4-crops” initiative to reduce waste and encourage enterprise, inviting customers to exchange excess home-grown fruit and vegetables for vouchers to use within their establishments. An abundance of apples kick-started Paula experimenting and the first of the Briscoe’s chilli Jellies appeared on their menus.
More flavours swiftly followed. In 2015, the Briscoe’s sold their pubs and set their minds to developing their handmade jellies. Seasonal specials, limited editions and wonderful new flavours are still to come but one thing’s for sure: savoury or sweet, whatever the dish, there’s a Briscoe’s Jelly just waiting to take it to new heights.
