Karl Mason, a gin-lover, sent his wife a message on Facebook one Friday requesting a G&T. This simple comment led to friends posting pictures of them having G&T's, so he created a group to share the pictures. This went viral, gaining over 10,000 followers. It wasn't long before gin brands started knocking on his door with samples to promote to his audience. This led to Karl trying dozens of gins available and coming to the conclusion too many new gins tasted the same - "Could I do better and create a new gin that really is different, not just a different label?" he thought. The mission was simple, come up with a gin that was truly exciting, worthy of their hard work and of their home turn in God's own country.
Two and a half years later Masons is growing faster than ever with the range extended with the addition of a Lavender edition, Tea edition (using Yorkshire Tea), the first Yorkshire Vodka, and stockists ranging from local farm shops to Fortnum & Masons in London.
