The Great British Exchange has been shortlisted for two awards in the prestigious Transforming Retail Awards by Retail Insider.
As well as being named finalists in the Most Promising Newcomer and Overall Technology Innovation of the Year categories, we have also been nominated for the Retail Insider Editor’s Special Award.
The judging panel consisted of senior retail influencers including Paul Clarke, CTO of Ocado, Jeremy Fennell, MD of Carphone Warehouse, Paul Wilkinson, head of product for space, range and display at Tesco, Martin Newman, chairman at Practicology, Lawrence Shaw, CEO of Sitemorse, Simon Calver, head of investments at BGF Ventures, Edwina Dunn, CEO of Starcount and Sarah McVittie, co-founder of Dressipi.
The judges were impressed by the fact that The Great British Exchange marketplace makes it possible for retailers of any size and location to buy from multiple small brands without incurring the costs and fulfilment challenges that would normally be associated with this form of buying. By reducing the cost and risk of buying from up and coming British designers and makers we are helping retailers differentiate on the high street. In the current climate, this is something that can really make the difference between survival and failure.
The Great British Exchange is turning the retail supply on its head and changing the retail landscape. There is no other business out there that has created an online sourcing solution that works for both retailers and producers to give them the platform they need to trade.
We are thrilled to be shortlisted and we are looking forward to spending an evening with some of the most exciting names in modern retail. The winners will be announced at a special event in London on October 10.
