Andrew Jones MP visited The Great British Exchange’s new showroom in Harrogate today. Mr Jones was updated with the progress of the business as well as shown the variety of British Made products on display at the business’ new premises.
Matthew Hopkins, Managing Director at The Great British Exchange talked to Mr Jones at length about the demand for skills within the British workforce and Mr Jones shared that 2017 will be the Year of the Engineer, explaining that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related jobs and careers are high on the government agenda for being made an attractive proposition for young people.
Mr Jones went on to give credit to The Great British Exchange and the progress made so far, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, The Great British Exchange is a great idea and what the team has achieved so far in a relatively short period of time is very impressive.”
Mr Jones and Mr Hopkins are looking forward to working together in 2016 to raise the profile of The Great British Exchange and the British made products that the business has available to retailers.
